Baobab scheduled maintenance: 05 06 July 2023

Dear users,

as just announced on the baobab-announce@ mailing list, we will do a software and hardware maintenance of the Baobab HPC cluster on 05 and 06 July 2023.

The maintenance will start at 08:00 +0100 and you will receive an email when the maintenance will be over.

The cluster will be totally unavailable during this period, with no access at all (not even to retrieve files).

If you submit a job in the meantime, be sure that the expected wall time (duration) does not overlap with the start of the maintenance or your job will be scheduled after the maintenance.

What should be done during this maintenance:

  1. re install all the nodes with latest security and bug fixes
  2. update the servers with latest security and bug fixes
  3. upgrade network upling on login2 with 10Gb link
  4. re install some of our servers with Rocky8
  5. various hardware fixed (battery, disk)

Dear Users,

We are pleased to inform you that the scheduled maintenance of Cluster Baobab has been completed. As a result, access to the cluster has been restored, and you can now connect to it to resume your work without any interruptions.

some essential upgrades that took longer than expected. We apologize for the delay and the inconvenience caused , and we appreciate your patience throughout the process.

During the maintenance period, the following major updates were implemented:

  • Migration Storage server to Rocky 8 OS
  • Update infiniband Mellanox to 4.9.7.1
  • Re install all the nodes with latest security and bug fixes
  • Update the servers with latest security and bug fixes
  • Upgrade network upling on login2 with 10Gb link
  • various hardware fixed (battery, disk)
