Dear HPC users,
Since the migration to BeeGFS v8, quota management has changed and users are no longer allowed to query their quotas directly without root privileges.
As a workaround, we have deployed a wrapper and an alias that execute the quota query with the required privileges.
Using the alias (recommended)
Important: The working alias is
beegfs-get-quota-home-scratch, which is intentionally very similar to the original command (beegfs-get-quota-home-scratch.sh)to minimize changes in your workflows. Please ensure you use the alias name exactly as shown below.
You can use the following alias command:
(baobab)-[alberta@login1 ~]$ beegfs-get-quota-home-scratch
Home directory: /home/users/a/alberta
Scratch directory: /srv/beegfs/scratch/users/a/alberta

Current status
- An issue has been opened with BeeGFS support to obtain more information regarding this change in behavior.
- We are currently working on migrating other tools, including the Open OnDemand quota page, to restore their functionality with BeeGFS v8.
- Additional updates will be provided as soon as more information becomes available.
Important: This limitation is related to the new permission requirements introduced in BeeGFS v8 and is not specific to our platform configuration.
