I know it has been mentioned via both the announce channel here and email that there will be problems restoring the home dir, requiring backups. Will scratch be affected the same way? Or are the contents of scratch lost due to the shutdown?
Currently cannot access baobab to check myself, as I’m being prompted for a password and my password does not work.

Hi,
scratch isn’t affected by Baobab shutdown.

I marked that I don’t need my $HOME
to be restored, and my scratch
is now a very old version of my scratch
before the failure.
For me, this is not an issue, but I decided that maybe it is worth informing you.

Hi,
we didn’t modified scratch space. This is what I see in your scratch:
[falkiewi@login2.baobab ~]$ ls -lah /srv/beegfs/scratch/users/f/falkiewi/
total 3.5K
drwx------ 7 falkiewi hpc_users 5 Mar 17 18:32 .
drwxr-xr-x 60 root root 58 Mar 8 13:26 ..
drwxr-xr-x 11 falkiewi hpc_users 21 Feb 7 16:43 motor-generative-modelling
drwxr-xr-x 12 falkiewi hpc_users 25 Feb 4 13:25 motor-preprocessing
drwxr-xr-x 13 falkiewi hpc_users 37 Mar 17 18:33 phys_inn
drwxr-xr-x 13 falkiewi hpc_users 19 Mar 17 18:32 phys_inn_2
drwx------ 3 falkiewi hpc_users 1 Dec 15 16:15 .singularity
What did you expect instead?
Additionally phys_inn_{3..18}
and maybe motor-generative-modelling-{2..4}
, but I don’t remember it now. But I am 100% sure about the first part.
SECOND THOUGHTS: maybe I did clean it when you asked to reduce disk space usage.
Please don’t worry about it unless more users report such problems
