Yggdrasil scheduled maintenance: 24-25th of August 2022

Dear users,

as announced on the mailling list, we will do a software and hardware maintenance of the Baobab HPC cluster on 24 and 25 August 2022.

The maintenance will start at 08:00 +0100 and you will receive an email when the maintenance will be over.

The cluster will be totally unavailable during this period, with no access at all (not even to retrieve files).

If you submit a job in the meantime, be sure that the expected wall time (duration) does not overlap with the start of the maintenance or your job will be scheduled after the maintenance.

What should be done during this maintenance:

  1. nodes re installation with latest bug and security fixes
  2. servers upgrade to latest bug and security fixes
  3. update Slurm
  4. update BeeGFS
  5. various admin fix

The maintenance is now over and the cluster access is open again.

What has been done during this maintenance:

nodes re installation with latest bug and security fixes
servers upgrade to latest bug and security fixes
update Slurm to version 22.05.3
various admin fix

Thank you @Yann.Sagon . Unfortunately I cannot connect any more to login1.yggdrasil.hpc.unige.ch:

Hi, yes there was a slight delay between my email and the reality:) Ssh access is now truly open.
