Vim last version installation

Hello I would like to use some more recent plugins in vim that require 7.4+ built version.

I can compile it from source and add in ~/.bashrc the binary but I wanted to ask if someone tried it already and faced problems.

Thank you in advance

Hi there,

Since we moved to CentOS 7 (cf. Baobab migration from CentOS6 to CentOS7 ), Vim is already at version 7.4:

capello@login2:~$ rpm -qa vim\*
vim-common-7.4.160-6.el7_6.x86_64
vim-enhanced-7.4.160-6.el7_6.x86_64
vim-filesystem-7.4.160-6.el7_6.x86_64
vim-minimal-7.4.160-6.el7_6.x86_64
capello@login2:~$ vim --version

Please try yours plugins with such a version and come back in case of problems.

Thx, bye,
